In our seventh year, the Girls Who Click teen conservation photography workshop continued to demonstrate its impact by providing young women with the skills and opportunities to document wildlife and conservation efforts. During this week’s episode I will take you to Padre Island, TX in search of Green Sea Turtles. According to the National Park Service, the green sea turtle is the most common sea turtle in Texas and Padre Island National Seashore is particularly important to its survival. The Gulf of Mexico, Laguna Madre, and Mansfield Channel waterways serve as vital developmental habitat for juvenile green sea turtles. Texas beaches are the most important for green sea turtle nesting with about 87% of green sea turtle nests found here.
