Central Florida is one of the best locations to photograph birds due to its unique blend of diverse habitats and abundant wildlife. Birds in Florida tend to be larger and less fearful of humans, making them some of the easiest subjects for photography enthusiasts of all levels. During this private tour, you can customize the experience to last four days, one week, or two weeks, depending on your schedule and interests. We will also tailor the itinerary to include your most desired locations, ensuring you have the opportunity to capture stunning images of the region’s remarkable bird species.

FLIGHT PLANNING The tour usually begins and ends in Orlando, FL. (Airport code MCO) but can be customized depending on your individual itinerary. You will be responsible for making your own flight arrangements.

TYPICAL FOUR DAY ITINERARY OUTLINE PLEASE NOTE: Each day’s plans may change along the way as weather, bird and wildlife activity, or other conditions insist. However, plan on early days and late evenings... and lots of fun. You can sleep when you get home!
DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN ORLANDO AND CHECK INTO HOTEL After check-in we will head a nearby birding location in the Orlando area. Afterward we will have a welcome dinner (remember, meal costs are not included).
DAY 2 – ORLANDO WETLANDS We will spend our morning photographing in the Orlando Wetlands Park. After a short lunch break we will head over the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge for the remainder of the evening.
DAY 3 — MERRITT ISLANDS NWR We will start our day at the Merritt Islands National Wildlife Refuge. After a lunch break we will head to Joe Overstreet Landing for our evening session.
DAY 4 – ORLANDO WETLANDS / AFTERNOON DROP-OFF Before heading to the airport for afternoon flights, we will spend one last morning at the Orlando Wetlands Park for one last chance to photograph the wildlife in the area.
TYPICAL WEEK LONG ITINERARY OUTLINE:
In addition to the four day itinerary we will add stops in St. Augustine, FL visiting a very popular location for nesting birds. We will also visit some beach locations and depending on interest you can include a kayak tour to see Flamingos or swim with Manatees.
TYPICAL TWO WEEK LONG ITINERARY OUTLINE:
In addition to the week long itinerary we will add stops in the west coast part of the state. Locations will include Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Fort Desoto, St. Petersburg, as well as Cape Coral for Burrowing Owls.
